55 Fridays

Inside my head sits
nothing but my voice.
Stuck.
Pouting.
Irritated. But
resolute
and trying to break out.
To speak; make others listen.
Instead, the voice, a quiet roar, falls
on an unlistening mind.
Never finding it’s way out.

Still, struggling on,
Thinking with each word, I become
unstuck.
Cracking this wall;
kicking lethargy away.

Remember this from this course?

You try writing an acrostic poem using only 55 words.

I dare you.
